Recognizing Southeast Asia War Legacies and Funding Unexploded Ordnance Removal
This Act authorizes humanitarian assistance for Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to clear landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO), which pose lethal risks to civilians and impede economic development in these regions. Furthermore, the bill formally recognizes the refugee and immigrant communities (including Hmong, Cham, Lao, and Vietnamese Americans) who supported the US Armed Forces during the Southeast Asia conflict in the 1960s and 1970s.
