Less Paperwork: Health Coverage Statements Available Upon Request
This Act provides an alternative manner of furnishing health insurance coverage statements. Instead of automatic furnishing, required entities may notify individuals that they may request a copy of the statement. If an individual makes such a request, the document must be furnished not later than January 31 of the year following the calendar year to which the statement relates, or 30 days after the date of the request (whichever is later).
