Improving Presidential Transition: Enhancing Federal Agency Readiness and Security
This Act amends the Presidential Transition Act of 1963 to mandate earlier appointments of transition officials and enhance oversight of transition preparations. It requires the Federal Transition Coordinator to be appointed 2 years before an election and Agency Transition Directors 270 days before. It also establishes requirements for publicly available IT management guidance and mandates reports on the efficiency and costs of the transition process.
