This law makes it easier for citizens to electronically submit contact lens prescriptions when buying online, while significantly strengthening the protection of their health data. Online sellers must now encrypt all sensitive health information sent via email. Furthermore, sellers are prohibited from using automated or prerecorded calls (robocalls) for prescription verification with prescribers.
