Federal studies authorized on social media's impact on youth mental health
This Act authorizes the Comptroller General to conduct two federal studies regarding the impact of social media technologies on the mental and physical health of users under age 18. The studies aim to assess the relationship between social media use patterns and medical conditions such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and suicidality. Reports on these studies will be submitted to Congress.
