Increased Housing Stipend for Veteran Parents Using Online Education.

This bill increases the monthly housing stipend for veterans who are parents and pursue their education solely through distance learning using the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Veteran parents studying remotely will receive the same housing allowance as if they were attending classes physically on campus in their residential area. This change provides greater financial flexibility, supporting parents balancing family duties and educational goals.
Key points
Veteran parents studying exclusively online will receive a higher Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA).
The stipend amount will match the rate for in-person students residing in the same ZIP Code area.
This applies to individuals studying more than half-time using Post-9/11 Educational Assistance.
