Rural Emergency Hospital Designation Improvement Act: Expanded Units and Payments

This bill amends the Social Security Act to modify eligibility requirements for Rural Emergency Hospitals (REHs) and allows them to maintain distinct inpatient units for psychiatric, rehabilitation, and obstetric care. It also establishes an add-on payment for diagnostic laboratory tests and designates REHs as health professional shortage areas for National Health Service Corps eligibility.
