Radiation Exposure Compensation Extended: New Affected Areas and 8-Year Deadline

This Act extends the period in which compensation may be provided under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) to 8 years after the date of enactment of this Act. It revises the definition of affected areas to include the entire State of Utah and specific counties in New Mexico for certain claims. It also adds a new section regarding claims relating to Manhattan Project waste for individuals who were present in specific Missouri ZIP codes and contracted specified diseases.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services must conduct a study on counties affected by radiation fallout from testing in Nevada and New Mexico.
