Flexible Grazing Management on Federal Lands to Improve Ecological Health

This Act establishes a program granting grazing permittees increased flexibility to adjust grazing schedules on federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). This allows them to respond to changes in weather, forage production, effects of fire, or drought, aiming to improve the long-term ecological health of the lands. These adjustments are made upon the permittee's request and are subject to monitoring.
Key points
Permittees can request to temporarily adjust the start and end dates of grazing seasons (with a margin of up to 21 days) and water transportation to adapt to resource conditions.
The increased flexibility aims to enhance the long-term ecological health of lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Using this operational flexibility cannot result in the termination or non-renewal of an existing grazing permit.
