Orbital Sustainability Act: Debris Remediation Program and Standards.

The Act establishes a demonstration program to develop technologies for the active remediation of orbital debris to support a safe space environment. It authorizes $150 million for NASA from fiscal years 2024 through 2028 to provide competitive awards to U.S.-based entities developing these technologies. Additionally, the Act requires the National Space Council and other agencies to update orbital debris mitigation standards and facilitate the development of standard practices for space traffic coordination.
