Expanding Compensation for Radiation Exposure Victims (Downwinders Parity Act)
This Act expands the scope of individuals eligible for financial compensation under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). The changes include new communities that were previously ineligible for support because they reside in counties partially affected by radioactive fallout. Citizens in these newly included areas suffering from radiation-related illnesses can now apply for benefits, directly impacting their financial and health security.
