Veterans Health Care: Ensuring Continuity of Care in Community Programs.

This bill modifies the Veterans Community Care Program to prioritize uninterrupted medical treatment for veterans. When deciding if a veteran should receive care outside the VA system, the VA must now explicitly consider the continuity of their existing healthcare. This change aims to prevent disruptions and allow veterans to maintain relationships with their current community providers if it serves their best medical interest.
Key points
Requires the VA to consider "continuity of care" when determining a veteran's best medical interest under the Community Care Program.
Helps veterans maintain access to their current non-VA doctors, reducing treatment disruption.
