This Act provides additional resources and support for U.S. nationals wrongfully or unlawfully detained abroad and their families. It introduces financial assistance to cover travel costs to Washington, D.C., enabling families to meet with government officials. Furthermore, the Act mandates making operational psychologists and clinical social workers available to support the mental health and well-being of both the detainees and their loved ones.
