Increased Transparency in Election Spending: Disclosing Donors and Fighting Foreign Influence.

This law significantly increases transparency in election and judicial nomination funding by requiring major organizations (corporations, unions, Super PACs) to quickly disclose their large donors. Citizens will gain a clearer understanding of who is paying for political advertisements and judicial campaigns, aiming to curb hidden influence and corruption. It also introduces stricter measures against the concealment of foreign money in US politics.
Key points
Organizations spending over $10,000 on campaigns must disclose the names and addresses of donors who contributed $10,000 or more.
All political ads (video, audio, digital) must include a list of the top 5 funders and an approval statement from the organization's highest-ranking official.
The ban on foreign funding in elections, including local ballot initiatives, is strengthened, and establishing shell corporations to hide these funds becomes a crime.
New disclosure rules apply to spending that promotes or opposes the nomination of federal judges.
