Public Tracker for Senate-Confirmed Government Positions and Vacancy Oversight

This Act establishes a publicly accessible system (PAS Tracker) to monitor all key executive branch positions requiring Senate confirmation. Citizens will gain transparent insight into who occupies these positions, which ones are vacant or temporarily filled, and the status of nominations within the Senate confirmation process. This enhances government accountability and allows for better assessment of whether key agencies are fully staffed, directly impacting the quality of public services.
Key points
Creation of a public website (PAS Tracker) managed by the GAO, updated weekly, to track the status of all Senate-confirmed positions.
The system will display the percentage of positions filled by confirmed officials, acting officials, or remaining vacant, broken down by agency and Senate committee.
Implementation of unique identifiers for each position to ensure consistent data across all public government records (GAO, OPM, Congress.gov).
Requirement for regular reports from executive agencies and the GAO, including analysis of the impact of vacancies on agency performance and recommendations for eliminating unnecessary positions.
