Parental Data Rights: Access and Control over Minor Children's Social Media Accounts.

This Act grants parents the right to demand full access to data and the ability to delete the social media accounts of their minor children (under 18). If a company denies this request, parents can file a civil lawsuit seeking injunctive relief, punitive damages (including treble damages for failure to notify), and legal costs. Social media companies are also required to collect parental contact information and notify them when a minor creates an account.
