Veterans to Fight Fentanyl: Expanding the HERO Corps Program.

This Act expands the existing HERO Corps Program, which employs veterans for data analysis, to include a new mission: combating fentanyl trafficking. This means more federal resources will be directed toward tracking and stopping the illegal trade of this dangerous drug, potentially increasing public safety. Veterans will continue their work against child exploitation, but their efforts will be partially redirected to address this new threat.
Key points
Expansion of the HERO Corps Program (previously focused on child rescue) to include tasks related to combating fentanyl trafficking.
Veterans participating in the program will now conduct investigations and analyses concerning the illegal trade of fentanyl.
A limit is set: fentanyl investigations cannot exceed 40% of all analyses conducted by HERO Corps Program participants.
