Job Protection Act: Easier Access to Family and Medical Leave for All Workers.

This law significantly expands who can take Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) and which employers must provide it. Employees will qualify for leave after just 90 days of employment, removing the previous one-year service and minimum hours requirement. Crucially, the mandate to offer FMLA now applies to nearly all businesses, regardless of size, down to those with only one employee, increasing job security for millions of citizens.
Key points
Eligibility for FMLA leave is reduced from 12 months and 1,250 hours of service to just 90 days of employment.
The requirement to provide FMLA leave is extended to all employers with 1 or more employees, drastically lowering the previous threshold of 50 employees.
