Expedited Congressional Access to US Military Bases

New rules make it easier for Members of Congress and their staff to quickly access certain military bases in the US and Guam. Citizens will not experience direct changes in their daily lives, but the act aims to streamline Congressional oversight of the armed forces.
Key points
Members of Congress with valid ID cards will gain immediate access to selected military installations.
Congressional employees accompanying Members of Congress will also receive the same access.
Prior scheduling of visits to these bases will not be required for authorized individuals.
