This new law aims to ensure hospital patients have the right to receive visitors, including spouses, family members, or friends. Hospitals will be required to establish clear visitation policies and inform patients about them, while also prohibiting restrictions based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, or disability. This will provide patients with greater support during their hospital stays.
Key points

Patients have the right to designate visitors and can withdraw or deny consent at any time.
Discrimination in visitation privileges based on race, sex, or religion is prohibited.
All visitors must enjoy full and equal visitation privileges.
