Energy Security Foundation: US Citizenship Required for Board and Staff

This new law changes the rules for the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation. The main change is that only U.S. citizens, nationals, refugees, or permanent residents can serve on its board or be employed by it. This aims to enhance security and oversight of critical energy projects.

Voting members of the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation Board must be U.S. citizens, nationals, refugees, or permanent residents.
The Executive Director and all other officers and employees of the Foundation must also meet these citizenship or residency requirements.
No Department of Energy employee can be a voting member of the Foundation's Board.
The Foundation's operations will be subject to additional security provisions.
