Recognizing Prior Learning for Faster Employment

This act aims to help adults and dislocated workers find jobs more easily by recognizing their existing knowledge and skills. Through new assessments, work experience, military service, or prior education can be converted into credentials or credits, speeding up their return to the workforce. Companies will be encouraged to hire based on skills, not just degrees.
Key points
Facilitating the recognition of prior knowledge and skills (e.g., from work, military service) to obtain credentials or college credits.
Supporting companies in hiring employees based on their actual skills, rather than solely on degrees.
Assisting in the creation of resumes and professional profiles that better showcase an individual's skills to potential employers.
