Transfer of Anadromous and Catadromous Species Management to the Department of the Interior

This Act transfers functions related to anadromous and catadromous species (fish migrating between fresh and ocean waters) from the Department of Commerce (NMFS) to the Department of the Interior. This means that responsibilities under the Endangered Species Act regarding these fish will now rest with the Secretary of the Interior. It allows for the reconsideration of final administrative determinations made by the previous agency within the three years prior to the transfer.
