Defense Against Drones: Right to Shoot UAVs Over Property

This bill allows property owners to shoot down drones flying low over their land if they have reasonable belief. It aims to protect privacy and security. Citizens gain new powers but must report such incidents.
Key points
You may shoot a drone flying no more than 200 feet above your property if you reasonably believe it's necessary.
You must use a legally obtained shotgun and comply with applicable state laws on firearm discharge.
If you shoot down a drone and can identify its registration number, you must report it to the Federal Aviation Administration within 60 days.
The act does not change existing state laws regarding liability for actions taken under this provision.
