Limiting Social Security Overpayment Recovery to 10 Years

This bill aims to change the rules for recovering Social Security overpayments. If you received too much money, the government can only recover it if the overpayment occurred within the last 10 years. After this period, the overpayment will no longer be subject to recovery.
Key points
Limits the government's ability to recover overpaid Social Security benefits to a 10-year period from the date of the overpayment.
This means if an overpayment happened more than 10 years ago, it will no longer need to be repaid.
