Payments for Air America Employees Who Supported the U.S. 1950-1976.

This law authorizes one-time financial awards for U.S. citizens who worked for Air America or its affiliates between 1950 and 1976, supporting U.S. government operations. Individuals with five or more years of service, or their survivors, are eligible for a base payment of $40,000, with extra funds for longer service. This recognition does not grant access to standard federal retirement or disability benefits.
Key points
A one-time payment of $40,000 is authorized for former Air America employees (or their survivors) with at least five years of qualifying service between 1950 and 1976.
An additional $8,000 is paid for each full year of service exceeding the initial five years.
The total funding for these awards is initially capped at $60 million.
Claims must be filed with the CIA Director within two years after the implementing regulations take effect.
