New Work Hour Rules: Training and Washing Excluded.

This act changes how work hours are calculated. Time spent on training, education, or washing before or after work may no longer count as paid hours, provided certain conditions are met. This impacts what employees are compensated for.
Key points
Time spent on training and education outside regular work hours will not be counted as paid hours if participation is voluntary and doesn't affect employment.
Time spent changing clothes or washing at the start/end of the workday can be excluded from work hours if agreed upon in a collective bargaining agreement or by custom.
Employees will not be paid for these activities if they do not perform productive work for the employer during that time.
