Sanctions for October 7th Attacks: Blocking Assets and Visa Bans for PRC.
This Act mandates severe financial and visa sanctions against the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) and associated individuals and entities, in response to their participation in the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks on Israel. This means any assets of these entities within the U.S. will be blocked, and their members will be ineligible to enter the United States. Furthermore, the Act requires the U.S. government to regularly report on and consider designating the PRC and other groups, such as Lion’s Den, as global terrorist organizations.
Key points
Asset Blocking: All property and interests in property of the PRC and associated persons located in the U.S. or under the control of a U.S. person will be frozen.
U.S. Entry Ban: Members and affiliates of the PRC will be inadmissible to the United States and ineligible for visas or other entry documentation.
Terrorist Group Reporting: The Secretary of State must investigate and regularly report on whether the PRC and the Lion’s Den group meet the criteria for designation as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT).
