Key points
For kidnapping or conspiracy to kidnap, if linked to a foreign government, sentences can increase by up to 10 years.
For murder-for-hire, if linked to a foreign government and resulting in injury, sentences can increase by up to 10 years.
For assaulting a federal official or their family, if linked to a foreign government, sentences can increase by 5 to 10 years, depending on severity.
For stalking, if linked to a foreign government and resulting in serious injury or death, sentences can increase by 5 to 10 years.
For attacks on the President, Vice President, or their staff, if linked to a foreign government, sentences can increase by up to 10 years.
