Expanding Fertility Care Access for Servicemembers and Dependents
This new act aims to broaden access to fertility treatment services under the TRICARE program for servicemembers and their families. This means more individuals covered by TRICARE will be able to receive fertility assistance, regardless of the cause of their issues or their marital status. The act is designed to facilitate access to important medical services that can improve the quality of life for many families.
Key points
Fertility treatment services, including in-vitro fertilization and cryopreservation, will be covered under the TRICARE program.
Access to these services will not depend on whether the fertility issue is related to a service-connected disability.
Sex, gender, sexual orientation, or marital status will not affect eligibility for these services.
