New US Law: Ban on Private Ownership and Trade of Primates

New rules prohibit the import, export, sale, purchase, breeding, and possession of most primate species, such as chimpanzees and monkeys, for private individuals. Those who already own such animals must register them and will not be allowed to sell them or permit public contact. The aim is to enhance public safety and animal welfare.
