Student Mental Health Support: Crisis Contacts on ID Cards.

New rules aim to improve student access to mental health crisis support. Colleges will be required to include phone numbers for mental health organizations on student ID cards or publish them on their websites. This is intended to increase awareness and accessibility of support for students in need.
Key points
Colleges issuing student ID cards must include contact information for national crisis hotlines (e.g., 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Crisis Text Line) and the campus mental health center.
If a college does not issue ID cards, the same contact information must be published on its website.
The changes will take effect one year after the act is passed, allowing institutions time to comply.
