This new act allows for the remains of U.S. Armed Forces members who die in the line of duty to lie in honor in the U.S. Capitol rotunda. This decision will be made at the request of the primary surviving next of kin, offering families a public way to mourn and pay tribute. The act applies to service members who die on or after its enactment date.
