Ban on Selected Food Dyes: Enhancing Food Safety for Consumers

This act aims to remove certain food color additives deemed unsafe from food products. Starting from late 2025 and 2026, foods containing these additives will be considered adulterated, meaning they cannot be sold. This directly impacts what consumers will find on store shelves, enhancing the safety of consumed food.
Key points
As of December 31, 2025, Citrus Red No. 2 and Orange B will be prohibited in food.
As of December 31, 2026, Red No. 40, Yellow No. 5, Yellow No. 6, Green No. 3, Blue No. 1, and Blue No. 2 will be prohibited in food.
Food products containing these dyes after the specified dates will be considered illegal and cannot be sold.
