Prohibiting Federal Funds for Colleges Employing CCP-Funded Instructors

New rules aim to protect American higher education from foreign influence. Colleges that employ instructors funded by the Chinese Communist Party will lose access to federal financial aid. This ensures that education in the U.S. remains free from foreign political influence.
Key points
U.S. higher education institutions will not receive federal money if they employ instructors paid by the Chinese Communist Party.
The ban applies to professors, teachers, and other individuals providing instruction who receive funds directly or indirectly from the Chinese Communist Party.
An institution can regain eligibility for federal funds if it proves it no longer employs such instructors.
The changes will take effect 180 days after the law is enacted.
