This act extends continuous health insurance coverage for children in Medicaid and CHIP programs. This means children will have guaranteed healthcare for a longer period without needing to reapply, making it easier for parents to ensure their children's health.

Children up to age 6 will have continuous healthcare coverage in Medicaid and CHIP, without breaks in insurance.
Children aged 6 to 18 will be covered for 24 months instead of the previous 12 months, providing more stable access to doctors.
Youth leaving foster care will be able to use Medicaid until age 26, offering significant support during their transition to adulthood.
Programs are now required to annually update contact information to inform families about their insurance status and duration.
