Easier Access to Farm Loans for Young Farmers

This new act makes it easier for young farmers and ranchers to access government farm ownership loans. It reduces the required experience and introduces waivers for those with management experience or mentored by seasoned farmers. The goal is to support new generations in agriculture.
Key points
The required farming experience for farm ownership loans is reduced from 3 years to 1 year.
The 1-year experience requirement can be waived for farmers with at least one year of hired farm labor with substantial management responsibilities.
The requirement can also be waived if the farmer is mentored by an experienced or retired farmer through an approved program or local operator/organization.
