New Travel Restrictions for Foreign Officials to UN Headquarters in NYC

This new law imposes strict travel limitations within New York City for certain foreign officials and international organizations attending UN meetings. The aim is to enhance security and control over individuals deemed extremists or from countries with strained relations with the U.S. This law does not introduce any changes or restrictions for U.S. citizens.
Key points
Officials from Iran and those associated with terrorist organizations will be restricted to specific routes between the airport, hotel, and UN Headquarters.
Visas for these officials will only be valid for a short period around UN meetings, typically one day before and one day after.
Officials from UN organizations not joined by the U.S. will be limited to a 25-mile radius around UN Headquarters and prohibited from visiting higher education institutions.
The law does not apply to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.
