Restoring Merit in Military Academies: Admissions Based Solely on Merit

This act changes the admission rules for U.S. military academies, including West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Air Force Academy. Admissions will now be based solely on a candidate's composite score, without considering race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin, or religion. This aims to ensure all candidates are evaluated fairly, based only on their achievements and abilities.
Key points
Admission Criteria: Entry to military academies will be determined exclusively by a candidate's composite score, calculated uniformly for all applicants.
Prohibition of Discrimination: Race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin, or religion will not be considered in the admission process.
Weighting of Scores: The academic component of the composite score (including standardized tests) will account for at least 60% of the overall score, while subjective components will be limited to 10%.
Additional Appointments: 300 qualified alternates will be appointed each year based on merit from candidates not selected through other nominations.
Transparency: Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force must submit annual reports on admissions, including any waivers of minimum score requirements.
