Dedicated Funding for Healthcare Workforce Training in US Territories
This Act reserves 5% of federal Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG) funds specifically for grants to territories (defined as States other than the 50 States and the District of Columbia). Furthermore, the law mandates that at least two grants be awarded to eligible entities within the territories, to the extent that a sufficient number of qualifying applications are submitted. It also makes the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands eligible for these grants.
