Clearer Food Labels: Dyes, Flavorings, and Sweeteners Must Be Prominent.

This law mandates that food manufacturers must clearly state the presence of synthetic dyes, added flavorings, and nonnutritive sweeteners directly on the principal display panel of the packaging. The goal is to give consumers easy access to key ingredient information, enabling more informed dietary choices. Failure to include this information will result in the product being classified as misbranded.
Key points
Requirement to display information about synthetic dyes and added flavorings (natural or artificial) on the front of food packaging.
Mandate for prominently labeling the presence of nonnutritive sweeteners (e.g., artificial sweeteners) on the main product label.
The changes apply to all food products, excluding dietary supplements, and aim to increase ingredient transparency for consumers.
