Tighter Foreign Agent Registration Rules for Adversary State-Controlled Entities.

This bill tightens the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) by removing key exemptions for individuals and companies working on behalf of entities controlled by governments designated as "countries of concern." The goal is to increase transparency regarding lobbying and information activities conducted in the U.S. by state-controlled foreign principals. Citizens will gain better insight into who is attempting to influence American policy and public discourse on behalf of foreign governments.
Key points
Eliminates registration exemptions for agents working for corporate or government entities controlled by identified "countries of concern."
Establishes a process allowing the Secretary of State to modify the list of "countries of concern," subject to Congressional approval.
These new transparency requirements are set to expire after five years (Sunset Clause).
