Medicare Coverage for Early Blood Screening Tests for Alzheimer’s Disease.

This Act ensures that the federal health insurance program, Medicare, will cover the costs of new, early screening tests for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. This means seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries will gain access to innovative blood tests capable of detecting the disease in its pre-symptomatic or early stages. These changes, aimed at enabling quicker diagnosis and intervention, are scheduled to take effect starting January 1, 2028.
