Grants for Farmers: Financial Support for Climate Adaptation and Soil Health.
This law establishes a $150 million annual grant program (until 2034) to help farmers and agricultural organizations develop and implement strategies that protect farms from extreme weather and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Farmers can receive financial and technical assistance to improve soil health, manage nutrients, and increase the resilience of their operations. Priority is given to small farms, beginning farmers, and Tribal communities.
Key points
$150 million annually is allocated for grants supporting agricultural climate adaptation and carbon sequestration on farmland.
Grant funds can be used for direct financial aid, technical assistance, on-farm research, and training to help producers transition to ecologically sound farming systems.
Higher federal funding shares and priority access are designated for Tribal Governments and historically underserved producers, including beginning farmers and veterans.
