New Rules for Pre-Trial Release of Non-Citizens

This bill changes how courts decide whether to release someone accused of a crime before their trial. If the person is not a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident, the court will now assume they are a flight risk and a danger to the community. This makes it much harder for them to be released, even if they have family or a job in the U.S.
