Ban on Hiring Violent Crime Convicts in D.C. Government and Contracts.

This Act immediately prohibits the District of Columbia (D.C.) government from hiring individuals finally convicted of violent or dangerous crimes. It also prevents D.C. from entering into contracts with vendors who employ such individuals in key roles or for contract execution. This aims to enhance public safety and trust, but requires the termination of current D.C. employees with such convictions and forces contracting businesses to verify their personnel.
Key points
D.C. government must fire all current employees finally convicted of violent or dangerous crimes within 90 days of the Act's enactment.
A permanent ban is established on hiring new individuals with such convictions for D.C. government positions.
D.C. cannot contract with vendors if they, their officers, directors, controlling owners, or contract employees have final convictions for these specified crimes.
