Increased Healthcare Choice for Veterans

This bill aims to improve veterans' access to healthcare by giving them greater freedom to choose doctors and facilities. This means veterans will be able to more easily use both Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and external medical services, regardless of their place of residence. The changes are intended to facilitate treatment coordination and ensure better access to specialists.
Key points
Veterans will gain the ability to choose their primary care providers and specialists, both within Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and outside.
Existing location restrictions for facilities will be removed, allowing veterans to seek treatment anywhere, regardless of their regional network.
A pilot program will run for three years, after which the principles of free healthcare choice are intended to become a permanent part of the veterans' system.
