Washington Transparency Boost: Closing Lobbying Loopholes and Lowering Registration Thresholds.

This bill aims to increase transparency in the legislative process by forcing more consultants and strategic advisors to disclose their lobbying activities. Citizens will gain better insight into who is influencing government and Congressional decisions. These changes make it harder for strategic influence to remain hidden from public view.
Key points
Strategic consultants who direct or substantially influence lobbying contacts must now register, even if they do not personally speak to government officials.
The minimum amount of time spent on lobbying that triggers mandatory registration is lowered from 20% to 10% of an individual's time for a client.
