STEADFAST Act: Shifting Presidential Campaign Funds to Election Security

This bill ends taxpayer funding for presidential campaigns and redirects those funds to help states secure their election systems. Citizens can still designate tax dollars to this fund, which will now pay for voting equipment and cybersecurity instead of political candidates.
Key points
Terminates public financing for presidential elections and nominating conventions.
Redirects tax return designations to a new Election Security Fund for state grants.
Provides funding for paper ballots, cybersecurity, and secure voting machine storage.
Prioritizes states that require valid photo identification to obtain a ballot.
Requires states to certify that noncitizens are not permitted to vote to remain eligible for funds.
