New database to help veteran-owned small businesses secure government subcontracts

This act creates a specialized database of certified veteran-owned small businesses to help them connect with large government contractors. It aims to increase the number of veterans participating in Department of Veterans Affairs projects as subcontractors.
Key points
Creation of a certified database for veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
Large contractors will use the database to find and hire veteran subcontractors for government projects.
Only businesses with a proven track record of at least two successful past contracts are included.
The initiative uses existing personnel and funds without requiring new taxpayer money.
The program is temporary and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2028.
